EXCEPTION REPORT

An exception report is an information update generated whenever a parameter specified at a process point is exceeded. Each process point (also known as a tag) has a set of exception reporting parameters defined within the function block controlling the process at that point. Parameters include high and low alarms, a percentage change in span, or a logic state alarm.
